My Stylish, Comfy Work from Home Minimalist Uniform
I recently shared on TikTok that I have a minimalist “uniform” that I wear. Now, let’s be clear, this isn’t something I planned on happening. It just sort of, happened. There was a big response to the post with people chiming in with how much they love their own uniforms. Amidst those comments were even more comments asking for specifics about mine. Since we are living in a time where work at-home style is all the rage, I decided to share the specifics about my go-to outfit as a work at home entrepreneur.

Comfort and quality first
For the first 4 years of running this minimalist-styled blog, I haven’t shared clothing or items along those lines. The reason being, I struggled with a major shopping addiction for most of my life. The last thing I wanted to do was add pressure to others by dropping links to cute clothes all the time. However, I have decided to make an exception when it comes to high-quality, long-lasting items.
You see, over the last 4-5 years of my minimalist journey, I have learned to appreciate quality items. I save for what I want and I buy with intention and purpose.
If you are hoping to make that same shift in your life, where you only intent to own high-quality, long-lasting items, then please continue on to see some of my top recommendations for clothing items.
The outfit basics
So let’s break down this “uniform,” shall we? Basically it consists of leggings, a tank, cardigan and usually some cozy socks.
I love this because when I wear sweats all day I tend to feel bad about myself, putting together a comfortable outfit that isn’t so loose and bunchy makes me stand a little taller when I look in the mirror.
The leggings
Let’s face it, any good work-from-home outfit has to come equipped with comfy pants. My personal favorite are Aerie leggings from American Eagle. They make up the entire collection of work-from-home leggings as well as workout leggings. Um and let’s be honest, all of my jeans are American Eagle too.
I have found similar leggings on Amazon that have great reviews and are from the same company that I get my favorite tanks from.

The go-to tank
I was really linking Target’s slim fit rib tank for only $8, however, I was really wanting something with built-in support that wasn’t so see-through. My hope was to also find a tank that would work at home or out on a hike. I started hearing good things about The Gym People’s basic workout tank with built-in support so I thought I would give it a try.
Absolutely love these tanks for home or fitness-related days, so I bought a few in different colors and plan to build up my uniform with more white and black.
Cardigan
My favorite type of cardigan to wear around the house is something that has all of the following qualities:
- Sweater material
- Pockets
- Past waist length
If you want to basically feel like you are wearing a blanket all day, these attributes are the ones to aim for in an around-the-house cardigan.
Cozy socks
Being a born and raised Minnesotan, cozy socks are a 9 month wardrobe staple and are something I have put a lot of time and effort into.
Just kidding, any cozy sock will do. My favorite have been the bundled packs you can get at Costco. The picture below are my favorite “boot socks” that I wear hiking and around the house.

Ok, your turn!
