I was nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award!

I am so honored to announce that, was nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by For the Love of Teachers. It really is such an honor to be recognized. It means so much to have my work be appreciated by such a great blogger.

Thank you again, so much to for thinking of me for your nomination. A site that is dedicated strongly to helping others (specifically teachers) succeed and thrive in what they do.

Working so hard at doing the same thing when it comes to health and overall wellness, I’m honored to be recognized.

  1. What is your niche? Tell us a little bit about your blog.

Picking a niche was really tough for me and I took a few months to really figure it out. There are so many areas of passion in my life and things that I love to do, it was hard to settle in one area. What ultimately guided me more in the direction of food and health matters was the response I got from people when it came to those particular areas. Of course, I want to create content that is beneficial to others and when I saw such a big need for better food recipes and health advice, I just dove in head first.

  2. Why did you create your blog?

I had been hearing this voice, or having this feeling for a long time. At least a year. That what I was really meant to do was write. I had attempted writing several books in the past but wound up deleting them all. I just couldn’t seem to find anything that stuck. One day, out of basically nowhere and with no knowledge of blogging, I realized that blogging was my answer. I had blogged before without intention; I just knew it was time to make a bigger, stronger effort if I was going to truly make an impact.

  3. What are your hopes and dreams for your blog?

I truly hope to reach a wide audience of people. I hope to lift others up. Having struggled with body image and self esteem a good portion of my life, I want to do my best to prevent anyone else from those same self-sabatoging habits. I want to inform people about all the ways diet can truly transform your entire life, just like it has transformed mine.

  4. How long have you been blogging?

Blogging with intention? 2 months! AHH!

  5. Which blogs do you follow that inspire you?

I took a while to really figure out the functionality of my own blog and just recently started really looking into others. There are so many bloggers that are inspiring. Every day I find a site that is beautiful, heart felt and amazing. I love finding bloggers who are truly living for a passion. Each one of them inspire me in some way. The one main blog that helped me get mine to the point it is has been Just a Girl and Her BlogIt seems to have been the one site I keep going back to. While our niches our totally different from one another’s, I just really like the way Abby writes, teaches and relates to her audience.

  6. Do you blog full time or just as a hobby?

Well, it sure feels full time. I have put so much effort into learning about blogging, improving my style, my writing and my content. I would love to someday turn this passion into a full time profession and if gut feelings are correct, it is in my future at some point.

  7. What are some mistakes or lessons that you learned about blogging?

Whenever I’m trying too hard, I’m doing it wrong. It’s hard not to see another great blogger doing well, with a great layout and feel like you need to be doing the same thing. It has taken me a while to really find my “groove.” I also wish I would have known my niche and stuck to it right away so I could have more related content, but, writing about a variety really helped my mind make up what was right for me.

  8. Why should others read your blog?

I believe so many people could benefit from reading my blog if they are feeling stuck in an area of their life. If they are feeling unhealthy in their bodies, minds or souls. Plus, the world today is crazy busy and we don’t always have time to nourish and take care of ourselves. I try my best to put recipes up that are easy to make but are amazing in taste. Everyone could use some more flavor in life right? Especially when it’s easy to get!

  9. How do you inspire others?

I don’t know, but I seem to. My friends tease me because I tend to be obnoxiously optimistic. I live a life with gratitude as often as possible. For everything. One day I was stuck in traffic and my infant son (at the time) was screaming non-stop. I closed my eyes and thanked God for his lung capacity. I thanked him for allowing me to know the sound of my son’s cry. It’s not always easy, but when I made the change toward optimism and positivity, I saw great strides in my life. I think it rubs off on others as well.

  10. What are the biggest challenges with blogging?

How to narrow it down…I think the biggest challenge is my own brain. It keeps trying to tell me that I can’t. That I don’t have enough time for this, that I can’t be a mom while I blog too. My brain tries really hard sometimes to convince me that I will never figure this all out. So I gotta turn my brain off (LOL) and just go into mombie blogger mode and do it with a smile.

  11. In what ways do you support others (bloggers, friends or family) in helping them grow?

Like I said earlier, for the first month and a half or so I really just had to get myself in gear. I couldn’t even think about other bloggers because I was so focused on learning what I was doing. Now I’m joining Facebook groups, like Bloggers Unite on PinterestI love being a part of these groups because they are big communities of people all working toward similar goals. It’s a giant support group. I love seeing new content from other people every day and sharing the posts that really speak to me. I’m not trying to share more on my other social medias for fellow bloggers and linking more in my own posts. For a while I just kept to myself and now I’m making goals, taking names and trying to build up other people who are just working toward their own personal goals.

Final Thanks

Thank you again to For the Love of Teachers for making me feel appreciated. This award has truly brightened my life and made me a little more optimistic as I continue on in this blogging journey.
