My absolute favorite way to save money is when it involves food. Just an FYI in case you didn’t know that yet. One of the best ways to do that is to avoid going out by making some of my favorite restaurants foods at home. This one is not a well known recipe unless you spend most of your time in the Minneapolis suburbs like me. There is an awesome restaurant called Pour and they make the most amazing avocado wontons with a spicy strawberry sauce. I love these so much that Tom and I often call ahead just to order the wontons to go. Now we can skip that step because I have created a copycat recipe for us to enjoy at home!
Wontons at restaurant
Wontons at home:
The addition of the spicy strawberry sauce of course adds a few more bucks to this total but we still get 3 times as many wontons which is a win-win for everyone except when my kids expect me to share.
Now if you remember, I struggle with gluten intolerance. You can go over my symptoms here if you suspect you may have an intolerance as well. The one perk I have is being able to occasionally handle small amounts of gluten.
If you are a diagnosed Celiac and can’t tolerate gluten at all, there are recipes for completely gluten free wonton wrappers, like the one Gluten Free on a Shoestring.
